Elder
Board
The Elder board is comprised of 6 lay leaders and the
Senior Pastor. This board is responsible for the
spiritual leadership of the Church. Specific
responsibilities of Elders include shepharding the
flock, leading through example, teaching and exhorting,
refuteing those who contradict truth, manageing the church
of God, and praying for the sick. By definition, each
pastor at FBC is an elder, however only the Senior
Pastor is a voting member on the board. |
The
Serving Deacons
The Serving Deacons are a board of men and women
committed to using their divine gifts to serve God, our
congregation and people who are in need. Their goal is
to put into practice 1 Peter 4:10, which says " Each of
us should use whatever gift he has received to serve
others faithfully administering God's grace in its
various forms." Serving Deacons are resposible for
serving communion, shut-in ministry, hospital
visitation, benevolent ministry, prayer chain, baptism,
special needs, and general care for the church members.
These men and women work closely with the Pastor of
Visitation. |

Financial Deacons
The Financial Deacons are a leaders who are charged
with being the stewards of the resources at First
Baptist Church. Their responsibilities are to oversee
the physical plant and vehicles, make budget decisions,
provide accountability, and see that the resources God
has provided are put to work. "After a long time the
master of those servants returned and settled accounts
with them. The man who had received the five talents
brought the other five. 'Master,' he said, 'you
entrusted me with five talents. See, I have gained five
more.' "His master replied, 'Well done, good and
faithful servant! You have been faithful with a few
things; I will put you in charge of many things. Come
and share in your master's happiness!" Matthew
25:19-21 |
Mission Deacons
The Mission Deacons, along with the Dir of Mission Formation, are responsible to
educate concerning missions, communicate with our missionaries, encourge prayer
and participation relative to missions and develop the Missions Financial Plan
for ministry.
