John Yergan
Pastor of VISITATION MINISTRY

Greetings to all you folks out there in computer land. I serve as Visitation Pastor at FBC. I have been honored to fill that position for over 12 years. Each day I have the oppertunity, along with my visitation team, to minister to those in the hospital, nursing home, or personal residence. It is our mision to keep those of our church family who are no longer able to attend services "plugged into" the FBC family.

I was born and raised in Cumberland, MD. I came to know Jesus Christ as Savior and Lord at the age of 12. At the age of 14 I realized that I was called to the ministry. Over the years I've pastored in Maryland, West Virginia, and Ohio. Most of those years were spent as a Bi-vocational Pastor (working a full time job while pastoring a small church). In 1980, I moved to New Castle and became a part of the FBC family. I have 3 children, 4 grandchildren, and a great grand daughter.

CURRENT FAVORITE SCRIPTURE:
"Your attitude should be the same as that of Christ Jesus: Who, being in very nature God, did not consider equality with God something to be grasped, but made himself nothing, taking the very nature of a servant, being made in human likeness. And being found in appearance as a man, he humbled himself and became obedient to death— even death on a cross! Therefore God exalted him to the highest place and gave him the name that is above every name, that at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, in heaven and on earth and under the earth, and every tongue confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father."
-Philippians 2:5-11
